Before you register

  • Check the season. When we looked, the association’s site showed First Shift registration open for fall 2026. Confirm house league and rep registration dates on the current season page.
  • Ask about fees and refunds. The home page does not list them.
  • Ask about gear. First Shift includes equipment; house league and rep players need their own.

Girls’ association or GMHA?

Girls can also register with the Guelph Minor Hockey Association, which runs mixed programs. GGHA teams play under the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association. If you are unsure, read minor hockey options and compare age groups, ice times and cost with both associations before paying.

The University of Guelph also lists a girls’ hockey camp.
